How we remove minor scratches and swirls from your car!

Mother nature, lousy car washing, lousy drivers, or even our kids are common causes for car scratches. We get you. Noticing just a tiny scratch on our car hurts. But there are plenty of ways to remove these and pretend nothing happened. Here's a guide to eliminating the car's minor scratches.

However, before we start, remember this: If you are not comfortable about removing them yourself, it's better to contact a professional car detailing company. They have the professional tools and expertise to make your car look as good as new. Now, let's begin.

Identifying Small Car Scratches

This article aims to remove those scratches that are not big enough to stop your fingernails and that have slightly damaged your cars clear coat. But before we start attempting to remove those hideous scratches, the first step is to wash your car.

Materials

The materials we'll need are:

  • Microfiber towels - make sure they are clean.
  • Electric car polisher
  • A soft polishing pad
  • A finishing polish
  • A car wax or sealant

What We Do

Here's the step by step process:

  1. Dab 3-4 pea-sized beads onto the polishing pad and apply the polish directly onto the affected area.
  2. Using low speed, gently work the polish into the paint in a cross hatch pattern. Do not let the polisher spin in one spot too long as you can damage your paint system.
  3. Remove the residue with the microfiber towel.
  4. Repeat this method a couple of times until all of the affected areas look better
  5. Once all residue is wiped off, spray the wax or sealant onto a clean towel
  6. Let haze, and gently buff off with another clean microfiber towel

When it comes to protecting your new vehicle with Paint Protection Film (PPF), not all installation shops are created equal. While many businesses offer PPF installs, few bring to the table what truly makes a lasting difference: decades of professional detailing expertise. At A&G Auto Spa, we’ve spent over 20 years perfecting the art of vehicle detailing—long before PPF became a mainstream service. And that matters. Here's why:

Congratulations! You've just bought your dream car—a shiny, flawless beauty ready for the open road. But the excitement fades quickly the first time you hear the dreaded "ping" of a rock chip hitting your pristine paint. This is where Paint Protection Film (PPF) becomes your new best friend. What is Paint Protection Film (PPF)? PPF is a transparent, durable film applied to the front end of your vehicle, shielding it from common road hazards like rock chips, debris, bugs, and minor scratches. At our shop, our Level 2 PPF package (our most popular) covers your car's most vulnerable areas, including the full hood, bumper, headlights, front fenders, and side mirrors. Why Consider PPF for Your New Car? When deciding whether to invest in PPF, it's crucial to think about the long-term costs of driving without protection. Here's an easy-to-understand breakdown comparing PPF installation versus typical body shop repairs for common rock chip damage: 2024 BMW X7 M60i PPF Level 1 Package: $2395 (one-time investment, lifetime warranty) Typical Body Shop Repair: $5092.84 (actual local estimate) 2023 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS PPF Level 1 Package: $2295 (one-time investment, lifetime warranty) Typical Body Shop Repair: $5414.40 (actual local estimate)
